Founded in 1980 as a subsidiary of Chicanos Por La Causa, Prestamos CDFI is committed to promoting business and community development by providing access to capital through non-traditional small business financing. We are both a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and Community Development Entity (CDE), providing high-quality small business loans and technical support services to clients throughout Arizona and Nevada. In 1992, Prestamos acquired the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Microloan Pilot Program and became Arizona’s first SBA Microlender.  In 2000 Prestamos CDFI, LLC was formalized due to the success of our loan programs and the continued need and demand for these services in our communities.

CDFI’s are private-sector, financial intermediaries with community development as their primary mission. CDFI’s supply the tools enabling economically disadvantaged individuals and underserved communities to become self-sufficient stakeholders in their own future. These tools include providing financial services, loans, and investments; offering training and technical assistance services; and promoting development efforts that enable individuals and communities to effectively use credit and capital.
