PROTEC17 is a labor union representing public sector workers in the Pacific Northwest. Based in Seattle, Washington, the member-led organization emphasizes collective action, equity, and community building among its membership. It serves nearly 10,000 professionals across city, county, and state government and health districts, including engineers, IT staff, administrative professionals, financial analysts, and health specialists. It operates within the alternative dispute resolution space by organizing workers and advocating on their behalf. In recent work, PROTEC17 partnered with the Washington State Labor Council, and has collaborated with the Oregon Labor Education and Research Center and the Washington State Labor Council to host Race and Labor workshops. The organization also established a political endorsement program and a Political Action Committee in 2021.
