Dr. Kutner performs Neuropsychological Evaluations and Consultation to athletes who have sustained a head injury and who are looking for an independent first or second-opinion, as well as for patients who have concerns over memory impairment and dementia. With growing concerns about the effects of concussions on the brain, accurate diagnosis and return-to-play decision-making are critical to an athlete’s long-term health. As neuroimaging (CTI and MRI) are not contributory in the majority of concussive cases, Neuropsychological assessment provides the best window into the brain. Neuropsychological Evaluations examine how a brain is functioning and can determine not only if there is cognitive impairment, but most importantly, what is the level of impairment. Test results provide the individual and/or their family members with critical information for decision making. Dr. Kenneth Kutner is a Board-Certified Neuropsychologist and recognized national expert in the evaluation and treatment of concussion and dementia. He is currently in his 30th year as the team Neuropsychologist for the New York Giants. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine-Cornell University where he conducts clinical research on concussions and is involved in the training of residents. Dr. Kutner has more than 30 years of experience evaluating individuals who have sustained head trauma, ranging from mild concussion to severe brain injury. He also specializes in the evaluation of stroke, brain tumor, epilepsy, hypoxia/anoxia, neurotoxicity, dementia, Parkinson's disease, and other neurological disorders. Additionally, he performs Independent Medical Exams (IMEs), disability evaluations, mental capacity and competency exams, law enforcement exams, and provides expert testimony. Dr. Kutner divides his time each month between his Southeast Florida and New Jersey offices. For more information, visit www.proconcussioncare.com
