Project VOYCE (PV) envisions a world with diverse leadership for a more just and equitable society. PV’s mission is to develop future leaders in underrepresented communities by training and employing youth to work on real-life school and community challenges today.
 
In 2006, the closure of Manual High School - a traditionally underserved, inner-city public school in Denver - served as a catalyst for the creation of Project VOYCE (Voices of Youth Changing Education). Determined to ensure that the insights of students would be heard and utilized in future school reform efforts, two former Manual students, a former teacher, and the founder of YouthBiz launched Project VOYCE. Through in-depth leadership and advocacy training, PV provides an alternative context for underserved youth to develop skills to dismantle barriers to fair representation by engaging them in relevant and rigorous lessons about social change and inequality. Celebrating its 10th year in operation, Project VOYCE continues to combat educational inequity through youth development, youth employment, and youth civic engagement. Since the inception of the organization, over 400 youth have been employed at above minimum wage employment. PV youth leaders past lobbying efforts have included support for Senate Bill 191 and Amendment 66.
