PT Bukit Makmur Mandiri Utama (BUMA) is one of the largest independent coal mining contractors in Indonesia, based in Cilandak, Jakarta. The company was founded in 1998 as a family business and was later acquired by Delta Dunia in 2009, integrating it within a larger group. BUMA delivers a broad range of surface mining services, including overburden removal, coal mining, hauling, and land reclamation for major operators in the Indonesian coal sector. Its capabilities extend to long-term mine planning, drilling and blasting, road construction and maintenance, and related infrastructure work, with expansion into mining-related construction since 2016. BUMA serves a client base that includes Adaro Indonesia, Berau Coal Energy, Geo Energy, Bayan Group, UPC Renewables, and Solway Groups. In late 2024, Delta Dunia Group, via BUMA International, pursued expansion by arranging a controlling interest in the Dawson coal mining complex.
