PT Len Industri (Persero) operates under the coordination of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises and PT Danantara Asset Management, with 100% ownership by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia. Len has grown its business and product portfolio in the electronics sector, serving both industry and infrastructure, and has built extensive expertise across the following areas:

Railway transportation systems, implemented on several major lines in Java and Sumatra.

Urban mass transit development, including projects such as the South Sumatra LRT, Jakarta LRT, Jabodebek LRT, and the Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta Airport Skytrain.

Telecommunications infrastructure, deployed across both metropolitan and remote areas. Notably, the Palapa Ring Middle Package connects 17 districts in Indonesia’s central region, enabling widespread broadband access.

Defense electronics for land, sea, and air domains. Flagship products include radar systems, tactical radios, datalinks, combat systems for naval vessels, and tactical electric bikes.

Renewable energy, with solar power plants installed in nearly all regions of Indonesia.

Broadcasting technology, with over three decades of experience and hundreds of television and radio transmitters installed nationwide.

Established in 1965 as the National Electrotechnical Institute (LEN – Lembaga Elektroteknika Nasional), the company was transformed into a state-owned enterprise (BUMN) in 1991. Since then, Len has evolved from a government research institute into a professional business entity under the name PT Len Industri (Persero).

In 2022, Len was designated as the holding company for Indonesia’s state-owned defense industries, operating under the brand DEFEND ID.
