Puget Sound Fire is a regional, all-risk fire and rescue department based in Kent, Washington, serving Covington, Kent, Maple Valley, SeaTac, and portions of King County Fire Districts 37 and 43. Operating from 13 fire stations with 24/7 staffing, it provides fire suppression, basic life support, hazardous materials response, and technical rescue, while Advanced Life Support is coordinated through the King County Medic One program. The department covers 108.81 square miles and protects a population of more than 226,000, and it is internationally accredited for its operations. Governance is via a board that includes members from the Kent City Council and Fire Districts 37 and 43, with non-voting representatives from partner cities, charged with budget and policy oversight. Beyond frontline response, Puget Sound Fire maintains administrative, community risk reduction, support services, and training divisions to support its mission. A recent development includes the launch of a mobile COVID-19 vaccination program in partnership with King County Medic One.
