Queen City Unity is an IRS 501(c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization focused on promoting and driving diversity, inclusion, equity, and equality in the city of Charlotte, NC, and its surrounding areas. It is our goal to unite the citizens of Charlotte by providing diversity education sessions, community  programs that connect its citizens to those that serve and govern, leading charitable initiatives, hosting community festivals/events that celebrate our diversity and bring people together, and creating awareness around social injustice. 

Our organization is structured around our 4 Pillars of Unity, which are our core initiatives. 

Pillar I- Serve the Community 

Queen City Unity works alongside other nonprofit organizations in Charlotte to drive their mission statements and provide a pool of volunteers in the community. Additionally, we host our own charitable activities that serve the homeless, foster children, students below the poverty line, and Charlotteans in need. 

Pillar II- Community Programs

In 2018, Queen City Unity hosts community programs that combat the socioeconomic issues in our community that have created division for generations.  The Queen City Unity Equity Program and Charlotte FORWARD focus on providing those who struggle every day the tools that they need to live sustainable, fruitful, and productive lives. 

Pillar III- Events and Festivals

Queen City Unity hosts community events that promote equality and equity in Charlotte, and bring people together of all backgrounds and lifestyles. Our signature event is The Charlotte UNITE Festival. A  multicultural festival dedicated to celebrating our diversity in Charlotte. The festival includes music from local artists of all backgrounds, guest speakers, and food from different cultures in our city.

Pillar IV- It is part of our mission to raise community awareness around crucial issues, and be a voice for the residents of our city.
