Queensland Law Society is a non-profit body serving Queensland's legal community, based in Brisbane. It represents more than 13,000 legal professionals and acts as a hub for leadership, practical guidance, and reliable support for both practitioners and the public. The society carries out statutory duties such as issuing practising certificates, maintaining solicitors' records, and regulating trust accounts to protect the public. It is incorporated under the Legal Profession Act 2007 and is governed by a council elected by its members. Beyond setting professional standards, the organization supports practitioners in improving service delivery and works with government on legal reforms to improve access to the law. In February 2026, it launched an AI Selection and Use Checklist for Legal Practitioners to help firms evaluate third-party AI tools and accompanying guidance for clients.
