R and C Ranch is a small fiber-focused operation based in Chehalis, Washington, within the ranching industry. The farm centers on fine wool fiber animals, notably American Romeldale/CVM sheep that are considered critically endangered by the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy, producing a soft wool favored by hand spinners and fiber artists. Sheep are kept coated to minimize vegetable matter and simplify processing. In addition to the sheep, the operation maintains four pygora goats with mixed fleece types, and recently welcomed a new buck named Zeus, who joined from Mt. Hood Fiber in Welches, Oregon. Two llamas, Magical Melody and Salome, provide additional fiber and serve as guardians for the flock.
