The RAIN Alliance is a member-driven organization based in Wakefield, Massachusetts, that brings together more than 200 global organizations to promote universal adoption of RAIN RFID. Serving as the industry's collective voice, it aims to influence policy and regulatory progress to enable broad IoT connectivity via RAIN technology. RAIN RFID, commonly referred to as UHF RFID, is a standards-based wireless system built around ISO/IEC 18000-63 that enables organizations to identify, locate, and authenticate items as they move through networks, supporting improved traceability and sustainability. In August 2023, Jos Kunnen joined the alliance's Board of Directors. The alliance operates within the IT services and IT consulting arena, coordinating member activities and facilitating collaboration among its members. Its work focuses on shaping the ecosystem and standards for RAIN RFID to enable widespread use across industries.
