Founded in April 1998, Rainbow City Band (RCB) is a non-profit organization based in Seattle, Washington. About 75 musicians belong to the band; we divide our musical year into concert (fall through mid-spring) and marching (mid-spring through summer) seasons. 

RCB consists primarily of a concert band, but also has strong membership within our Swing Band, Orchestra, Pep Band, and Color Guard. New members at all levels are always welcome. Our minum requirement for musicians are the ability to read music and basic familiarity with your instrument. Please contact membership@rainbowcityband.com for more information.

RCB is a non-audition community band consisting of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and straight members from all around the Puget Sound area. While most of our members are musicians, we also have non-playing members who support the band's rehearsals and performances and a color guard that performs off-season as well as leading the band in parades during marching season. Our goals are to develop and sustain our musical talent; to develop long-lasting friendships among our own members and with other musical and LGBTQA groups with whom we interact; to promote visibility and acceptance of the LGBT communities at large; and to have fun doing it all.
