I spent 50 years of my life as a committed non-Christian, fully convinced that Christians were crazy, deluded and pathetically simple because they had been fooled by a book written by ancient kings to control the masses. It turns out I was the one who was pathetically simple for not investigating the claims of Christ. Today, as a Pastor, I want to help people fall in love with Jesus for the first time, or all over again. My books are all intended to reach the fringes of Christianity, those with doubts, and the those who are curious but don't want to step foot in a church. My method is to reach out and talk to people in their language, on their turf. Go to them--in a Christian novel, in a new view of Christ, in a new context of studying the Bible. It is a biblically accurate novel that chronicles a shy, abused, anti-Christian airman as he seeks love and the Tao (the way) in the mountains of Japan. He falls in love and finds an old man who teaches him Taoist principles that lead him eventually to the way, the truth, and the life. Yet, it will take another thirty years of living in hard, shallow, and thorny soils before he is finally ready to let God transform him into good soil.
