Rather Architecture is a Salt Lake City–based architecture and planning firm that works across a broad range of building types, including commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, religious, and residential projects. The practice emphasizes creating spaces that reflect clients’ vision and values and that support occupant well-being and performance, avoiding environments that feel deficient or poorly scaled. The result is spaces intended to help people feel great and thrive in their environments.

As a small firm, Rather Architecture participates in a wider design ecosystem through its networked group, RDX, formed in 2012 and led by John Rather, NH Rather, Chao Xie, and Ralph Spencer Steenblik. RDX explores computational design approaches and maintains offices in Salt Lake City and Los Angeles, expanding collaborative capacity for complex projects.
