Radio Caracas Television (RCTV) was founded in 1953 and for more than 54 years was the leading over-the-air television channel and production company in Venezuela. RCTV’s programming has been sold in more than 120 countries and translated to more than 40 languages. For many years, Venezuela served as the test market for Latin-oriented programming, putting RCTV at the forefront of innovative regional production and setting the industry standard for the genre. In 2007, RCTV entered the Venezuelan subscription television market as RCTV Internacional, immediately becoming the market leader and doubling the audience of its nearest competitor.
