ReadWorks is a nonprofit EdTech organization based in New York that aims to improve reading comprehension through free, accessible resources for teachers and students. Since founding, 56 million people have used the ReadWorks platform, and the library comprises more than 6,000 texts across diverse subjects. The platform combines research-based digital tools with educator guidance and broad national reach, all provided at no cost to users. Each school year, ReadWorks serves nearly 1 million educators and more than 11.5 million students, including 93% of the highest-poverty K-8 schools. Content is developed with rigorous fact-checking and sensitivity reviews, and ReadWorks collaborates with institutions such as the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, the International Quilt Museum, the American Museum of Natural History, and the New-York Historical Society to create passages. In January 2026, ReadWorks was named among the Top 25 Global Impact Certified EdTech organizations, signaling recognized impact in the field.
