The Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary is a small religious academic institution based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It educates students for pastoral ministry and broader church service within the historic Reformed faith. While its founding purpose was to train pastors for the Gospel ministry within its sponsoring denomination, the seminary now also prepares men and women from diverse Reformed and evangelical backgrounds for missions, counseling, Christian education, youth and campus ministry, and other forms of service in various cultures. The curriculum emphasizes biblical studies, systematic theology, church history, personal godliness, and interpersonal skills to nurture spiritual gifts and leadership for discipling the nations. A recent development reflecting its ongoing faculty expansion was the appointment of David Whitla as professor of church history in Pittsburgh in November 2020.
