RefuAid is a small to mid-sized nonprofit based in London, England, operating in the international development space to address forced migration in Europe. Founded in 2015, the organization pursues long-term solutions by partnering with local communities to promote independence and dignity for both refugees and host populations, reducing reliance on external aid. One of its core efforts focuses on expanding access to English language learning for people seeking asylum in the UK and in Greece, including those in the asylum process. In the United Kingdom, RefuAid offers interest-free, character-based loans of up to £10,000 to help refugees cover accreditation and training costs needed to return to work. In Greece, it helps secure long-term housing alongside language and employment support for refugees and destitute members of the host community. The organization has developed collaborations with academic and professional institutions to broaden refugee pathways to regulated professions, evidenced by partnerships with Liverpool John Moores University and English UK.
