Region Värmland is a regional government organization formed by the county council and its 16 municipalities to coordinate development, culture, public transport, and adult education across Värmland. It originated in 2001 as a municipal association and, following 2007 changes that allowed counties to create cooperative bodies, took on responsibilities for regional infrastructure planning, including rail, road, shipping, and aviation.
