The Regional Center of the East Bay is a community-based private nonprofit organization operating under contract with the California Department of Developmental Services. It serves Alameda and Contra Costa counties, handling intake, evaluation, diagnoses, and the coordination of community-based services for more than 20,000 children and adults with developmental disabilities. Based in San Leandro in the East Bay, the center collaborates with individuals, families, community leaders, and other agencies to help those it serves lead high-quality, independent lives in the region. 

Its work sits within the field of individual and family services, with a mission to equip people with developmental disabilities and their families with the tools to achieve meaningful, satisfying lives while building partnerships that foster inclusive communities. In February 2025, the organization announced the appointment of Dr. Rebecca Nanyonjo as its new Executive Director.
