Reservoir Engineering Research Institute (RERI) is a nonprofit organization focused on advanced research and education in petroleum reservoir engineering. Based in Palo Alto, California, and established in January 1990, it conducts experimental, theoretical, and numerical studies in thermodynamics of hydrocarbon reservoirs, production, gas injection processes, and fractured and layered reservoirs. The work is supported by a laboratory equipped with high-pressure visual coreholding and flooding apparatus, allowing studies on matrix blocks to inform fluid flow and reservoir behavior. RERI’s activities are organized around two main research areas, namely thermodynamics and fluid flow, and are designed to advance understanding within the broader field of reservoir engineering. The organization serves researchers and practitioners looking for in-depth analyses and methodological insights into reservoir performance and related processes.
