The Rhode Island Golf Association is a nonprofit organization that brings together private and public golf clubs and courses across Rhode Island. Founded in 1902, its mission is to promote and preserve the traditions of golf in the state, and it has grown from ten founding clubs to a network of 52 member clubs. The association is governed by an Executive Committee and an Operating Committee, with day-to-day operations led by an executive director and staff; in 2013 it merged with the Rhode Island Women’s Golf Association to serve all golfers in Rhode Island.

As the state representative of the USGA, RIGA conducts local qualifying for USGA championships and oversees the Rules of Golf, while maintaining a course rating and handicap system for member clubs. It organizes a broad schedule of events, including more than 40 championship events and about 30 weekly play dates for the 2019 season. The organization is based in Providence, Rhode Island, and maintains a small staff; a notable recent development is the 2023 appointment of Joe McDonald as Director of Communications/Senior Writer.
