The Richardson Chamber of Commerce is the business and information assistance center for Richardson, Texas with a paramount goal of making business better for its membership. The Chamber is three times accredited as a 5-star chamber by the US Chamber of Commerce, recognizing its high quality, expertise and strong leadership. Boasting a membership of more than 800, the chamber was first organized in 1946 to promote business and meet the economic needs of a fast growing suburb of Dallas. The chamber has been recognized nationally and regionally for its achievements in economic development and support of small and mid-size businesses. The Richardson Chamber of Commerce formed an Economic Development Partnership with the City of Richardson, which in part, has resulted in Richardson being recognized as a "boom town" of the 1990s by The Wall Street Journal. The Chamber, the City, the school district, higher education and other major community groups have come together and developed mutual objectives and as we move forward through the 21st century. Perhaps the greatest accomplishment of the Chamber in recent years has been the attraction of thousands of quality jobs to Richardson, centered around the 75 Telecom Corridor® and CityLine.
