Richland Community College is a comprehensive higher education institution located in Decatur, Illinois, founded in 1971. It offers transfer and baccalaureate pathways as well as career and technical education programs, serving roughly 5,000 students annually across the main campus, two Extension Centers, and other off-campus sites. The college is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, with reaccreditation under the Academic Quality Improvement Program achieved in Spring 2008. Its Continuing and Professional Education division delivers professional development, community education, and workforce training to more than 4,000 participants each year, reflecting a community-focused mission to improve quality of life in Central Illinois.
