Ride On Therapeutic Horsemanship is a non-profit organization based in Chatsworth, California, operating two sites: a 13-acre facility in Newbury Park in the Conejo Valley in partnership with the Conejo Recreation and Park District, and a 3-acre ranch in Chatsworth in the San Fernando Valley that the organization owns. The organization provides adaptive horseback riding lessons for children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities, and offers physical, occupational, and speech therapy that uses the movement of the horse to improve medical conditions. Founded in 1994, Ride On has delivered more than 102,000 lessons and therapy treatments and currently serves about 200 individuals each week. Its staff includes nine certified riding instructors and nine licensed therapists, with four faculty members who train and certify new instructors and therapists, and more than a hundred volunteers supporting a team of around thirty horses. The therapy program specializes in hippotherapy, always involving a licensed therapist; Ride On cites peer-reviewed research and a partnership with Central Michigan University, and it is the only nationally accredited hippotherapy program in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.
