Ridgecroft School is an independent, college-preparatory educational institution serving students from Kindergarten through 12th grade, with an additional state-licensed preschool program for 3- and 4-year-olds. Located in northeastern North Carolina between Ahoskie and Murfreesboro, the 83-acre campus comprises multiple classrooms, a media center, science and computer facilities, a gym, cafeteria, administrative offices, and outdoor spaces that support academics and athletics. The school outlines a curriculum that includes Advanced Placement courses in English, U.S. History, and Calculus, as well as Spanish language instruction and a range of electives and extracurricular activities, along with interscholastic athletic programs. Ridgecroft emphasizes student development through academics, citizenship, and community engagement, supported by accreditations from Cognia since 1984. Established in 1970 after being chartered by local parents in 1968, the school serves multiple counties in the Roanoke-Chowan region and maintains a long-standing presence in Hertford County, North Carolina. A recent development notes the appointment of a new head coach for the varsity boys basketball program in April 2025.
