Rimland Services NFP is a mid-sized nonprofit based in Evanston, Illinois, that provides collaborative care for adults with autism. The organization aims to see the world from the perspective of individuals with autism and to use that understanding to support them toward independence within their communities. It acknowledges that the cognitive differences associated with autism cannot be cured, but designs services intended to meet the unique challenges of this population. This person-centered approach situates Rimland within the broader non-profit human services landscape, focused on practical supports that enable autonomy. Its services are directed at adults on the autism spectrum, with the goal of promoting independent living through tailored care. Rimland has engaged in community partnerships to expand opportunities for engagement, including a 2020 collaboration with XSport Fitness after a multi-year partnership with LA Fitness.
