Ritter Greenhouse is a second-generation, family-owned wholesale greenhouse operator based in Bridgeton, Midwest. Its origins go back to 1966 when Ritter Produce was founded by Lawrence and Jennie Ritter, starting as a farm on land near the Missouri River Bottoms and supplying produce to local grocery stores for several years. In 1973 the company expanded into starter plants, a pivot that shaped its future in horticulture, and by 1995 it concentrated exclusively on greenhouse operations. Today, Ritter Greenhouse operates in the wholesale segment of the green industry, producing greenhouse-grown plants. The business reflects a long-standing family tradition and continues to navigate changes in the sector while serving customers within the regional horticulture supply chain.
