Located in Atlanta, Georgia, the Robert W. Woodruff Library serves the Atlanta University Center. Built in 1982 and named for Robert Winship Woodruff, a philanthropist and former Coca-Cola Company CEO, the library functions as the intellectual and information hub for the four institutions that form the world's largest consortium of HBCUs: Clark Atlanta University, the Interdenominational Theological Center, Morehouse College, and Spelman College. It supports the teaching, learning and research missions of these member institutions. The library houses the Archives Research Center, which holds extensive materials on the African American experience, including the John Henrik Clarke Africana and African American Collection, the Henry P. Slaughter and Countee Cullen Memorial Collection, and the Tupac Amaru Shakur Collection. It also serves as custodian of the Morehouse College Martin Luther King Jr. Collection, at the request of Morehouse College. In 2024, Kimberley Bugg was named chief executive officer and library director, taking the role in August.
