Romemu is a religious institution based in New York City, aiming to transform Jewish practice by integrating Eastern spiritual elements with traditional Orthodox influences to preserve a distinctly Jewish experience. The community emphasizes inclusive, egalitarian participation in prayer, learning, song, and movement, and incorporates practices such as meditation, contemplative silence, and yoga within a Jewish framework. It positions itself in the religious and spiritual space by offering a post-denominational approach that seeks to engage the heart, mind, and body, fostering compassion and social action rooted in tikkun olam. Located in New York, Romemu presents itself as a welcoming home for seekers and converts alike, promoting a form of Judaism that is joy-based, contemplative, and open to truth found beyond any single ideology. The organization highlights a multisensory practice—chant, melodies, and silent moments—designed to nourish spirituality while remaining deeply connected to Jewish liturgy and tradition.
