Brothers Morgan and Caleb Weinberg started Romp Skis in 2010. Both have a long background in the construction industry. This knowledge of building coupled with some experience in fiberglass work gave them the skill base to start making skis. Both brothers are life long skiers, learning when they were young children in northern New Hampshire. They progressed through high school ski racing and then moved to Colorado in search of deeper snow. In the winter of 09-10 construction work was slow for Caleb’s company. During this same time Morgan was reading online that people were making skis in their garages.

That winter the brothers made 8 pairs of skis in Morgan’s garage with the construction tools that they already owned. These skis weren’t pretty but they skied really well. Morgan and Caleb gave them out to their friends to ski. Everyone who tried them came back with big smiles on their faces saying how much fun these ugly garage made skis were.

This feedback gave the brothers the motivation to rent a factory space and start Romp Skis. It took most of the next year to perfect the manufacturing system and tools to make a saleable product. By the end of the 2010-11 season Romp Skis was making custom skis for the public.

Since that time the factory has moved once and grown into the production facility that it is today. Romp Skis still builds handcrafted one of a kind custom skis for each customer out of the best materials that money can buy. These skis are meticulously designed and crafted with one goal in mind, to make skiing more fun for the customer.
