Rowing Ireland is the national governing body for the sport of rowing, representing over 100 clubs across the island of Ireland. Rowing continues to be one of Ireland’s most successful sports, with a legacy of international success — including multiple World Championship titles, an Olympic silver medal in Rio 2016, gold and bronze medals at the Tokyo 2020 Games, and two more Olympic medals at Paris 2024: gold in the Men’s Lightweight Double Sculls and bronze in the Women’s Four. We are committed to promoting a culture of excellence, inclusion, and lifelong participation — ensuring that athletes, coaches, and volunteers enjoy a positive and fulfilling experience throughout their involvement in the sport. Rowing Ireland leads the development and growth of rowing across the country. Through initiatives such as Get Going…Get Rowing, over 86,000 young people have participated in the sport since the programme’s launch in 2014.
