The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI) is a higher education institution and the largest postgraduate medical college in Ireland, located at 19 South Frederick Street, Frederick House, Dublin 2, Leinster, Ireland. The organization employs between 201 and 500 staff members and operates as a registered charity (Charity Number RCN 20002718). RCPI offers training programmes, examinations, diplomas and educational courses designed to develop doctors’ skills and competencies to care for patients and to support safe and efficient healthcare systems. It houses six of Ireland’s thirteen postgraduate specialist training bodies: the Institute of Medicine; Faculty of Occupational Medicine; Faculty of Pathology; Faculty of Paediatrics; Faculty of Public Health Medicine; and the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Its mission is to train, educate and continuously develop doctors to meet current and future health needs, with a vision to promote excellence in medical practice through comprehensive training, education and healthcare improvements in Ireland and internationally. In 2025 RCPI launched Strategic Plan 2025-2029 to outline its priorities and actions.
