Russell County EMS is an Advanced Life Support ambulance service operating as an ambulance taxing district in Russell County, located in south central Kentucky. Based in Jamestown, it serves the county, including the communities of Creelsboro, Russell Springs, and Jamestown, and is the only licensed ambulance service in the area. The organization provides emergency medical response at the ALS level. As of August 2008, Russell County EMS also operates and manages the county’s E911 Center. The service runs four ambulances and staffs them with 14 paramedics, 15 emergency medical technicians, and 11 dispatchers. In June 2007, the agency relocated to a new 9,865-square-foot complex that includes living quarters for overnight staff, drive-through ambulance bays, two training rooms, administrative offices, and the county’s central E911 dispatch center.
