Rwanda Girls Initiative believes that education is a right and not a privilege, and that Rwanda can be transformed through educating a new generation of entrepreneurs and leaders. RGI seeks to:

* Educate girls: an educated girl reinvests in her family, community, and country
* Build sustainable schools: our projects will be independent from RGI in 7 years
* Form strong partnerships: local, national, and international partners are key to the success of RGI schools

Our first project is the Gashora Girls Academy, a secondary boarding school for 270 girls in the Gashora sector of Rwanda. The school will open in January 2011.
