RwandAir Ltd is Rwanda's national carrier, headquartered in Kigali, with passenger transport at its core and airport ground handling as an ancillary service. It began operations in December 2002 under the name Rwandair Express and rebranded to RwandAir in 2009. Based at Kigali, the airline operates a relatively young fleet and serves a network spanning Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, with certification from IATA, EASA, IOSA, and ISAGO. 

It serves both passenger and cargo markets, connecting 27 cities across Western, Central, Eastern, and Southern Africa and supporting trade and tourism. In June 2026, it launched an expanded air cargo corridor under AfCFTA to reduce export costs and boost intra-African trade.
