Sírio-Libanês is a hospital and health care institution based in São Paulo, in the State of São Paulo. Its origins lie in the 1921 philanthropic founding of the Sociedade de Beneficente de Senhoras, and the group has evolved into one of the best-known health care organizations with a century-long presence. Since the hospital opened in 1965, it has built a high-technology infrastructure and assembled specialized clinical teams, with ongoing emphasis on teaching and research to support diagnosis, treatment, health promotion, and quality of life. The institution operates the Sírio-Libanês Ensino e Pesquisa, integrating education and scientific inquiry through postgraduate programs, residencies, continuing education, distance learning, internships, seminars, and scientific meetings. It also pursues social responsibility through community initiatives such as Abrace Seu Bairro, collaboration with PROADI-SUS, and the management of five public health facilities in the State of São Paulo via the Instituto de Responsabilidade Social Sírio-Libanês, plus care for SUS patients at two philanthropic ambulatory sites. The organization is large in scale, serving a broad patient base within both private and public health contexts.
