The Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) is a government administration body serving as an association of local governments in the six-county Sacramento region. Its membership comprises the California counties of El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, Sutter, Yolo and Yuba, along with 22 cities within those counties. Headquartered in Sacramento, California, SACOG employs between 51 and 200 people. The organization provides transportation planning and funding for the region and serves as a forum for studying and resolving regional issues, including preparation of the long-range transportation plan and oversight of affordable housing distribution, transit, bicycle networks, clean air and airport land uses. SACOG has undertaken long-range planning initiatives such as the 2025 Blueprint, a framework linking land use and transportation in the Sacramento region.
