Sacred Heart Mission is a Victorian not-for-profit organization established in 1982 by the local parish to assist community members most in need. Based in St Kilda, it began by providing daily meals and a welcoming space for people experiencing homelessness and deep disadvantage, and it has evolved into an evidence-based organization serving hundreds of individuals each year. The organization is rooted in Catholic Social Teaching and emphasizes human dignity, rights, and self-determination. Today, its services span housing support, health and wellbeing, aged care, women’s services, and programs aimed at social and economic inclusion. Programs are designed and delivered in partnership with participants to tailor support to individual needs, with an emphasis on inclusion, empathy, and social justice. In April 2026, Sean Dempsey assumed the role of Board Chair, reflecting ongoing governance leadership changes.
