Saint Leo University is a private, nonprofit higher education institution based in St. Leo, Florida. Founded in 1889 by Benedictine monks, it is among the largest Catholic universities in the United States and offers 57 undergraduate and graduate programs to more than 18,200 students each year, delivering a values-based liberal arts education to diverse learners. The university is regionally accredited and operates a residential campus in the Tampa Bay region, along with 16 education centers across five states and an online program for remote students. Its alumni network numbers more than 98,000. In March 2026, Saint Leo University launched the Benedictine Society to expand Catholic access to higher education.
