SAIP is a Saudi government authority responsible for organizing, supporting, protecting, promoting, and enforcing intellectual property across the Kingdom. It was established by Ministerial Resolution No. 410 dated 28/6/1438 AH and its headquarters are in Riyadh; it is organizationally linked to the Prime Minister. The agency's mission is to regulate and develop the intellectual property environment in Saudi Arabia in accordance with international best practices, with a vision to enable a vibrant IP ecosystem locally and globally. SAIP has implemented multiple IP-related services and procedures, including a procedure for handling rejected trademark applications, an IP dispute conciliation service, an optional registration service for software, and a free online search tool for trademarks, patents, and designs. It collaborates with national and international partners, such as the Ministry of Culture, the Heritage Commission, and WIPO, and has supported projects including a bilingual IP search system delivered by MSOLS International and a joint WIPO master's program in the Arab region. The organization employs between 501 and 1000 people and reports revenue in the range of $1 million to $10 million.
