The Salt Lake City Stars is an NBA G League team affiliated with the Utah Jazz, based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Established in Utah for the 2016-17 season after the Jazz acquired the Boise-based Idaho Stampede, the team competes as part of the NBA’s official minor league structure, serving as a development and experimentation platform for players, coaches, officials, trainers, and front-office staff. The Stars play home games primarily at Salt Lake Community College in Taylorsville, with some games held at Vivint Arena, and operate in a family-friendly environment that supports fan engagement in spectator sports.

The organization targets basketball fans in the local market and aligns with the broader ecosystem of professional basketball by providing downstream opportunities and competitive experience for emerging talent. Positioned within the spectator sports industry, the team focuses on development within a professional framework, complementing the NBA through its role in training and testing concepts at the minor-league level. Recent activity includes strategic partnerships, such as a sponsorship arrangement announced in 2022, reflecting ongoing community and sponsorship engagement.
