Founded in 1959 by William Jacobs, Columbus Fair Auto Auction began as a single-lane operation at the Ohio State Fairgrounds, built on the principles of fairness and exceptional customer service. Jacobs recognized the critical need for a trusted marketplace where automobile dealers could source and sell used vehicles efficiently. In 1977, CFAA relocated to Obetz, Ohio—an 85-acre facility strategically positioned to support the company’s long-term vision. Today, the auction boasts 11 lanes, a full-service reconditioning center, Rub and Touch shop, mechanical repair center, and on-site test track. This evolution reflects CFAA’s continued commitment to innovation, dealer success, and industry leadership.
