San Domenico, a coed K-8 day school and coed 9–12 day and boarding school just north of San Francisco, is California's oldest independent school. At SD we believe that what students do with their education is just as important as their academic performance. Every day we encourage our students to not just study, but also to reflect on their learning, find their purpose, and celebrate in community, because an exceptional education, where values and academics join together, creates more than just great students—it develops great people. Our community is comprised of families of many faiths including Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, etc., as well as families who do not follow any particular faith but appreciate the value of discovering a sense of the sacred in its many manifestations. As a K-12 day school with an international and regional boarding program option for Upper School students, one of the unique aspects of an SD education is our diverse student body. With a far-reaching private bus system, we enroll boys and girls from regions throughout Marin, San Francisco, Napa, the South Bay, and around the world. Our 515-acre campus, nestled in the hills of San Anselmo, is a welcome "home away from home" and includes world class facilities: - music conservatory - hiking and mountain biking trails - aquatics center - state of the art gymnasium - 1-acre organic garden - visual and digital arts - makers program - 2,358 solar panels - 6 tennis courts San Domenico is the recipient of awards including but not limited to: - Common Sense Media Leadership - Apple Distinguished School - United States Department of Education Green Ribbon Award for Excellence in Sustainability - National Association of Independent Schools' Leading Edge award for Sustainability - Grand Champion award at the National Orchestra Festival, Virtuoso Program - Phillips Writing Awards We invite you to schedule your tour today!
