San Francisco Rising is an electoral alliance based in San Francisco, California, that mobilizes working-class communities and communities of color to influence local politics. It brings together long-standing grassroots organizations representing African-American, Latino, Chinese, and Filipino residents, pursuing housing and worker rights, environmental and racial justice, and youth and women’s empowerment. The coalition was formed to build political power to achieve lasting change across a broad set of issues, and it notes policy wins such as a $15 minimum wage, Free City College, stronger renter protections, and sanctuary protections for immigrants. Beyond city campaigns, the organization helped establish Bay Resistance to defend communities from right-wing attacks arising in the wake of the 2016 election. In January 2023, San Francisco Rising launched the SF District Attorney Accountability Alliance with the ACLU of Northern California to press the DA to take action on cases involving SFPD officers who killed three men. Earlier, in October 2021, it launched a deep canvassing program to discuss policing and incarceration and to promote community-based solutions to address conflict.
