Sarosi by Timeless Gems is the result of the nearly 30-year love affair between prominent gem dealer, Andrew Sarosi, and talented jewelry designer/graduate gemologist, Kim Hurlbert-Sarosi. A founding member of the AGTA, Andrew Sarosi was born in Hungary; a gentleman whose in-tellect and humble charm allowed him to mesmerize people with his love of gems. When most designers were setting single colored stones with diamonds, Andrew was combining exciting colors together: tanzanites with pink sapphires and tsavorite garnets, dramatic black opals with blue zircons and pink spinels. He was a visionary who influenced the direction of colored stone jewelry design. Kim Hurlbert-Sarosi discovered her love of fine jewelry while helping in her parents’ jewelry store in central California. A GIA Graduate Gemologist, Kim studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, is a Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain, and was the Jewelry Design Program Creative Director at a prestigious design school. Her knowledge, experience, and honesty earned her the respect of her peers and the trust of her clients, many of whom have been with her for decades. Kim and Andrew were married for 28 years, building their respective businesses around the cornerstones of quality, loyalty, and trust. This loyalty and trust extends to relationships with dealers, jewelers, and employees, and these relationships have stood the test of time. When Andrew passed away in 2012, Sarosi by Timeless Gems emerged with Kim at the helm, overseeing a world-class jewelry inventory and one of the most impressive gem collections in the country. She embraces technology while preserving true artisan aesthetics and craftsmanship. Over the years, Kim has seen her employees marry, have children, face illness and loss, and always provided a family-friendly, supportive workplace.
