Savon Voima Oyj is a regional energy group in the Finnish utilities sector, based in Toivala, North Savo. The group includes the parent company and two subsidiaries, Savon Voima Verkko Oy and Savon Voima Joensuu Oy, all under Savon Energiaholding Oy, whose owners are twenty municipalities in the region. It serves electricity transmission and network services to more than 117,000 customers across Pohjois-Savo and parts of Etelä-Savo and Keski-Suomi, and provides district heating to about 5,700 customers across 13 municipalities. Generation assets include 11 hydroelectric plants and CHP facilities at Iisalmi, Pieksämäki and Joensuu, supporting a diversified production portfolio. The Joensuu facility expansion includes a heat pump plant commissioned in 2026. In March 2026, Merus Power signed a contract to deliver a battery energy storage system of over 5 MW / 10 MWh to Savon Voima in Kuopio.
