The Sayreville Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management is a small government agency based in Sayreville, New Jersey, operating within the borough’s police department. It conducts investigations, training and planning related to homeland security and emergency management for the borough, organized into two branches with distinct areas of focus. The Homeland Security Branch handles tactics training, response planning and protection of critical infrastructure. The Emergency Management Branch oversees municipal emergency services, coordinates with the LEPC to engage public and private schools, evacuation and sheltering, the CERT program, disaster recovery, COOP/COG and mitigation planning. In early 2024, Sayreville OEM partnered with Spotswood OEM to conduct CERT training sessions for Sayreville's CERT program.
