Founded in 1953 and inspired by the famous art historian Roberto Longhi, Scala Archives is now the largest and most prestigious fine art image archive worldwide (with over 3 million images in high-res).

Scala Archives is either the outright owner or official agent for many of the most important art, fashion, photography & history collections worldwide. We represent exclusively worldwide The MoMA New York, Fundacion Museo Thyssen Bornemisza, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Center for Creative Photography Tucson and are official agents exclusively in some regions and non exclusively in others for the Metropolitan museum, the MFA Boston, Art Resource and all its US museums, BPK and its German museums, the National Gallery of London, the British Museum and British Library, the Tate Images, the Victoria & Albert museum, the Wallace Collection, the Fitzwilliam Museum, Prado, the Gulbenkian Foundation, the National Trust Enterprises, ADAGP, Christie’s Images, as well as the most important Italian State and local Museums.
