SCERS, the Sacramento County Employees’ Retirement System, is a public multi-employer retirement system established under the County Employees Retirement Law of 1937. Headquartered in Sacramento, California, it administers retirement, disability, and survivors’ benefits to eligible participants. Its governance rests with the SCERS Board of Retirement, which holds plenary fiduciary responsibility for the system’s investments and day-to-day administration. 
SCERS serves the County of Sacramento, the Superior Court, and nine special districts, and its membership includes active employees, retirees, and deferred participants. In April 2026, the system announced a new engagement with Northern Trust to provide asset servicing and outsourced solutions, including global custody, securities lending, and accounting services.
